Maintenance Technician – Level 2

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Level 2 Maintenance Technician to join our team at our tool manufacturing facility in Sturgis, Michigan. This position is ideal for an experienced industrial maintenance technician with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience maintaining manufacturing equipment.
The Maintenance Technician will support equipment uptime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement activities. This role works closely with production and maintenance team members to keep equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform industrial maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and related equipment
- Maintain and repair equipment including presses, CNC machines, drilling machines, belt grinders, and Fanuc & ABB robots
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Work with 3-phase electrical systems
- Support PLC troubleshooting and basic controls-related maintenance
- Perform metal fabrication and welding as needed
- Complete general maintenance and light building maintenance tasks
- Properly complete assigned maintenance work orders and maintenance documentation
- Use computer systems, Microsoft Office, and maintenance-related applications as needed
- Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
- Communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and leadership teams
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of maintenance experience in a machining, manufacturing, or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical background
- Good troubleshooting ability with a practical, hands-on approach
- Experience with electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial equipment, HVAC, metal fabrication, and welding
- Familiarity with PLCs and automated equipment preferred
- Experience with presses, CNC equipment, drilling machines, grinders, and industrial robots preferred
- Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and maintenance applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- High school diploma or documented equivalent work experience required
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
