Position Overview
Stone & Stryder is seeking a motivated Junior Construction Project Manager to support our
senior project managers in the execution of apartment rehabilitation projects throughout the San
Francisco Bay Area. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their construction
management career while gaining hands-on experience with multifamily renovations, unit turns,
capital projects, and ADU development.
The Junior PM will assist with project administration, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor
coordination, and client communication to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within
budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support Senior Project Managers with the day-to-day management of apartment
rehabilitation, unit turn, and CapEx projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of work.
- Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules and tracking progress against
milestones.
- Review scopes of work, proposals, change orders, and invoices.
- Conduct site visits, document project progress, and assist with inspections.
- Help monitor project budgets, labor costs, and material expenditures.
- Coordinate with property managers, owners, tenants, and project stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving field issues and tracking corrective actions.
- Maintain project documentation, including meeting notes, photos, reports, and closeout
packages.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, building
codes, and safety requirements.
- Support permitting, utility coordination, and project administration tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or project management,
preferably in multifamily residential construction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and construction management
software such as Procore, Knowify, Buildertrend, or similar platforms.
- Ability to read construction drawings and understand basic construction documents and
budgets.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work independently with guidance from senior
team members.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits throughout the Bay Area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with apartment renovations, unit turns, ADUs, or capital improvement
projects. Familiarity with San Francisco permitting and entitlement processes.
- Experience with budgeting, job cost tracking, and change order management.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly contract position at $40–$50 per hour, depending on experience.
- Reimbursement for business mileage at the current IRS standard mileage rate.
