Senior Structural Component Designer (MiTek) – Roof Trusses, Floor Trusses & Wall Panels.
Local company is expanding its engineered wood component manufacturing capacity and is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Component Designer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for designing high-quality roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and other engineered wood components using MiTek software.
We have a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation that will serve residential and commercial builders throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Responsibilities- Design roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and engineered wood components using MiTek software. Produce accurate and efficient manufacturing drawings. Review architectural and structural plans for constructability. Coordinate with sales staff, estimators, project managers, and production personnel. Optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes and engineering standards. Resolve design questions with builders, engineers, and architects. Support production with revisions and technical assistance as needed. Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Qualifications-Minimum of 6 years of structural component design experience. Proficiency with MiTek design software is required. Experience designing roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels. Strong understanding of residential framing methods and structural systems. Ability to interpret architectural and structural construction drawings. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Experience working in a truss or component manufacturing facility. Knowledge of IRC and IBC building codes. Experience coordinating directly with builders and production teams. Familiarity with manufacturing processes for prefabricated building components.
