Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition; report any changes to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding to support dietary needs and preferences.
- Support mobility and transfers using patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to promote safety.
- Maintain accurate care plans and document client progress, medication administration, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation, especially for clients with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment to promote health and hygiene.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and HIPAA compliance.
- Familiarity with specialized care for Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and home health services.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; additional training in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, or geriatrics is preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends; reliable transportation is essential.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
