Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including evaluating wound size, depth, exudate, and tissue viability using current best practices.
- Develop individualized wound care plans that incorporate advanced therapies such as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), debridement techniques, and skin substitutes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, and nursing staff—to coordinate patient care strategies effectively.
- Educate patients and their families on wound management techniques, hygiene practices, and lifestyle modifications to support healing at home.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure timely updates of medical records and progress notes.
- Monitor patient progress through regular assessments, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize healing outcomes.
- Use UltaMIST, Vaporox and participate in the treatment of patients needing advanced wound care.
- Lead training sessions for staff on wound care protocols, physiology of wound healing, and new treatment modalities to foster continuous professional development.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license with certification as a Wound Care Nurse Clinician (CWCN or equivalent).
- Experience in advanced wound care.
- Prior experience with pediatric and adult patient care in settings like hospitals or home care environments is advantageous.
- Strong teaching skills for patient education and staff training on wound management techniques.

Pay: $33.00 - $39.74 per hour
