Job Overview
The role will be responsible for owning the sales relationship with selected customers via plant facility atmosphere. This may include National Accounts such as Distributors, Landscape Suppliers as well as Regional Nursery, Flexible Packaging and Government accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Regular communication with existing customers via phone and email or on-line systems to proactively hunt for business opportunities. This will include product reorders but also discussions about additional products they may need.
- Maintain and expand government databases sent out by NYP.
- Main point of contact in all sales communications sent out by NYP.
- In conjunction with other salespersons, create regular communications and conversations with customer teams.
- Entering customer orders in NYP System including follow-up with customers and NYP operations team related to any questions or issues.
- Supporting NYP prospecting by providing initial contact with new customer leads determining the best contact and conducting initial screenings as to specific products they use in their business.
Other potential responsibilities for future training and activation
- Manage the on-line NYP Retail Store site.
- Improve the in-house training materials.
- Training in product management duties
Mandatory Skills:
- Previous experience in telephone sales and/or customer service
- Experience working with government entities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and experience in order entry
- Experience with Computer Systems with ERP experience being an added benefit.
- Ability to learn new products and to explain them in non-technical terms.
Additional Skills that Would Be Helpful:
- Experience with e-commerce
- Working with CRM systems
- Understand of Agricultural, Lawn & Garden or Flexible Packaging Industries
- Field Sales experience
- Understanding of Social Media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok)
Location will be in a NYP Location of Quakertown, PA; Lumberton, NC or McMinnville, TN
· Salary Range $50,000 – 75,000 a year
