Journey Level Plumber — Bellingham, WA
$5,000 signing bonus for the right candidate
Life is different at Marr's. You can feel it.
We've been in the trades since 1965 — three generations, same family, same town. HVAC built this company. Plumbing is now a full-fledged division of it.
That distinction matters if you're reading this. We're not a heating company that will hand you a water heater route and call it plumbing. We run service, repair, repipes, gas, drains, fixtures, remodels, boilers and hydronics — the whole trade. Six plumbers on staff, a full book, and a division that's still growing.
What the work actually is
Everything a plumber does. Service calls and diagnostics. Repipes and repairs. Water heaters — tank, tankless, and hybrid. Boilers and hydronic systems. Gas piping. Drain and sewer work. Fixture and remodel work.
You will not spend your career on one repetitive scope. The variety is the point — and so is the fact that we've got the volume to keep you busy in it year-round.
We're still building toward where this division is going. If you want a say in how a growing operation gets structured, you'll have it. If you just want to be the best plumber in the county and be left alone to do it well, that works here too.
Why a good plumber takes this job
Health insurance we pay for. All of it. Medical, dental, and vision — 100% company paid. Not 80%. Not "generous contribution." Paid. Compare that against every other ad open on your phone right now.
Retirement with a 3% match. Paid vacation. Uniforms covered.
Pick your truck. New vehicle, outfitted properly, and you spec it out.
Trucks that are actually stocked. We rebuilt our entire truck stock program from the ground up so you're not driving to the supply house at 2pm on a Friday. Your job is the trade, not the scavenger hunt.
Tools that don't fight you. ServiceTitan, real dispatch, real routing, a dedicated plumbing dispatcher. When something in the process is broken, we fix the process — we don't tell you to work harder.
A licensed career, not a job. We track your L&I hours and put you in front of the test when you're ready. Pass it and your pay moves that day — no waiting for review season, no negotiating for what you already earned.
Pay that follows performance. As you produce more and learn more, you earn more. That path is defined, not implied.
A real ceiling. Five trades under one roof — plumbing, HVAC, electrical, indoor air quality, solar. Stay a top-tier field plumber for twenty years, or move toward leading this division. Both are real here. We'd rather promote you than post the job.
Sixty-five people. Small enough that everyone knows your name. Big enough to back you up when a job goes sideways.
What we expect
We do the job right, not the easy way. Clean work, straight talk with customers, and showing up when you said you would. We're not the cheapest bid and we don't try to be — we install systems that hold up in Pacific Northwest and we stand behind them. If you've ever been asked to cut a corner and hated it, you'll like it here.
Our mission
To provide an exceptional customer experience by developing exceptional employees.
We hire on trajectory, not just résumé. We'd rather train the right person the Marr's way than inherit someone else's shortcuts.
Our core values
Innovation — We don't accept stagnation. Your ideas about how this division should run are wanted, and no improvement is too small.
Accountability — We own our problems instead of externalizing them, and we hold each other to that with respect. Mistakes are lessons, not ammunition.
Transparency — Honest with our customers, honest with each other. Trust is a long game and we play it that way.
Professionalism — The uniform, the truck, the conversation at the door, the work behind the wall. We aim for perfect, fall short like everyone, and adjust.
