Job Overview
Fourth Front Aviation is a growing aircraft maintenance company with shops at Santa Monica Airport (KSMO) and Colorado Springs (KCOS). Our Santa Monica crew of five mechanics works on everything from Cubs to King Airs, at the field where the DC-3 first flew.
You'll run the front and back office of the Santa Monica shop: the parts room, purchasing, shipping and receiving, the programs that keep an FAA-regulated shop compliant, and the front desk, where you're the first person customers and vendors meet.
You don't need a wrench to work here, but you do need a passion for aviation. Aptitude and attitude matter more to us than your resume. If you're organized, curious, and want to build a career around airplanes, we'll teach you the aviation side.
Duties
- Own the parts room: receive, stock, and issue parts, consumables, and equipment, and keep the counts true.
- Purchase parts: source them, order them, track them, and chase them so aircraft keep moving.
- Run shipping and receiving.
- Administer shop programs such as FAA requirements and tool calibration schedules.
- Greet customers and vendors in person and on the phone, and keep aircraft owners informed.
- Work with our shop software. We build the system ourselves, and the people who use it shape it.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the US (required).
- Organized and reliable.
- A clear communicator on the phone, at the counter, and in writing.
- Genuinely interested in aviation. Tell us about it when you apply.
What we offer
- A predictable Monday–Friday schedule.
- Two shops and growing, with room to move up as we do.
- A front-row seat to interesting airplanes and a crew full of pilots. If you want to learn to fly, this is a good place to start.
