-Have an active WVSTARS account, or be willing to obtain one and be responsible for taking required CEU's in the field
-Willing to attend classes in Child Development as are appropriate to the position
Duties
- Assist in creating and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for assigned group as well as individual children
- Work with co-workers to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play-based learning opportunities
- Maintain open and effective communication with coworkers, parents and guardians
- Assist in monitoring and assessing individual children's progress
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies, opened properly each morning, and closed down properly at the end of each day

Duties
- Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, including literacy, math, physical education, science, and social emotional learning
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and addressing behavioral challenges through positive behavior management strategies.
- Provide direct care for toddlers and preschool children, ensuring their safety, welfare, by engaging and interacting during activities.
- Aid in lesson planning and preparation to facilitate positive educational experiences aligned with childhood development standards.
- Assist with classroom organization, including setting up learning stations and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Participate in assessments and contribute to progress reports for individual children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to support child welfare and foster collaborative relationships.
- Help facilitate physical activities and promote healthy development through engaging with the children in physical education activities.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred.
- Experience with curriculum implementation and classroom experience in preschool or childcare environments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
