Responsibilities
- Efficiently operate dishwashing equipment to clean all cookware, utensils, glassware, and tableware, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food handling and basic food preparation tasks to support kitchen staff during busy service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, and storage spaces, following strict sanitation standards.
- Support with bussing tables and clearing dishes in dining areas to ensure a tidy environment for guests.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations at all times.
- Support catering and banquet events by providing timely cleaning and setup assistance as needed.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper dishwashing techniques.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and food handling practices.
- Excellent cleaning skills with attention to detail in maintaining hygiene standards.
- Basic knife skills or culinary experience are a plus but not mandatory.
