Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, safety-minded Heavy Wrecker Driver with a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). In this role, you will respond to emergency calls, accident scenes, breakdowns, and recovery operations involving heavy-duty commercial vehicles, tractor-trailers, buses, and construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Recovery: Safely operate heavy-duty tow trucks, rotators, and lowboys to recover, winch, hook up, and transport disabled commercial vehicles.
- Scene Management: Assess incident scenes, set up traffic safety perimeters, and execute recovery plans under high-pressure conditions alongside law enforcement and emergency response teams.
- Rigging & Hookup: Connect under-reach lifts, safety chains, air lines, and lighting boards to towed vehicles while adhering to strict weight distribution and rigging guidelines.
- Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Perform daily vehicle inspections (DOT logbooks, fluid checks, air brakes, hydraulic lines, winches) and maintain clean equipment.
- Documentation & Communication: Complete run logs, damage reports, and receipts accurately while maintaining clear communication with dispatchers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with an acceptable driving record (Tanker/HazMat endorsements a plus).
- Medical Fitness: Valid DOT Medical Card and willingness to submit to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
- Experience: Minimum 1–3 years operating heavy-duty wreckers, rotators, or commercial transports.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, crawl under vehicles, work in severe weather, and stand for extended periods.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call night availability.
Preferred Skills
- TRAA (Towing and Recovery Association of America) Certification.
- Prior experience with hazardous material spill cleanup and winch/rigging physics.
