Function:
The Security Officer willprovide security services for the treatment center campus, staff and residents. You will be responsible for observing and reporting activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the safety of client property and personnel. You will also make periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Does not provide treatment to patients, but is a very visible BRH employee, often greeting patients when they enter the facility. Assisting with searches and testing.`
· Interacts with all staff, client and client family members in a communicative and positive manner.
· Foot patrol of interior and exterior areas of assigned locations checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, safety violations and unauthorized persons
- Observe and report suspicious activities and persons
- Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports
- Enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance
· Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable through supervisor immediately.
· Assist in conducting all fire drills within the facility
· Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform a preventive maintenance as needed.
· Setting up and staging chairs for meetings, presentations and special events.
· Handles a scheduled, emergency, and routine maintenance orders.
· Remove debris from driveways and all public areas inside or out.
· Controlling access to client site or facility through the admittance process
· Communicating in a manner that is open, honest and responsible in all situations
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Qualified applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license. Ability to read and understand written instructions. Prior building maintenance and landscaping experience preferred. Process is a valid Michigan driver’s license.
· As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
Strong candidates will demonstrate the following characteristics:
· Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of verifiable and successful security or law enforcement experience
· Must have one or more of the following:
· Associate’s degree or higher in any discipline
· Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard
· Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
· Meaningful and verifiable work history

Pay: $17.15 - $21.55 per hour
