Position Purpose: Responsible for safely transporting material to designated locations, adhering to traffic laws, and maintaining the vehicle's cleanliness and roadworthiness, as well as effectively communicating with dispatch, customers, and team members, and completing necessary documentation.
Primary Role Expectations:
· Drivers see and interact with our customers more than anyone else. Drivers must be customer service oriented to work with the customers
· Load and deliver building materials to job sites
· Load and unload freight, securing cargo for safe transit
· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety regulations
· Operate delivery vehicles and unloading equipment, such as forklifts
· Follow driving standards and comply with state, federal, and company regulations
· Maintain professional relationships with customers and obtain signatures and receipts
· Adhere to delivery schedules and optimize routes for efficiency
· Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and cargo details
· Communicate with dispatch to report any issues or delays
· Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating equipment; including but not limited to wearing required PPE
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Clean driving record preferred.
· Familiarity with maps, using GPS and navigating effectively for route planning.
· Strong problem solving, communication, and customer service skills.
· Ability to lift and move up to 60lbs, loading and unloading freight efficiently.
· Proficiency in operating unloading equipment.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
