Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Concrete Superintendent to lead and oversee concrete construction projects on-site. This role is vital in ensuring that all concrete work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. As a key leader in the construction team, you will coordinate daily operations, supervise crews, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. Your expertise will drive project success from groundbreaking to completion, fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes excellence and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all onsite concrete activities, including pouring, finishing, curing, and formwork installation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure concrete work meets design schematics, blueprints, and industry standards.
- Manage daily site operations, including resource allocation, material deliveries, and equipment usage such as ohmmeters for testing electrical components in formwork or curing systems.
- Enforce safety protocols in accordance with OSHA regulations; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
- Review contracts, scopes of work, and schematics to ensure clarity of project requirements; interpret blueprints and construction estimating documents accurately.
- Supervise and mentor construction crews; monitor productivity, provide guidance on best practices in concrete placement and finishing techniques.
- Utilize construction management software like Raken and Quickbooks Time app for documentation, reporting, and communication across teams.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines; implement corrective actions as needed to stay on track.
- Conduct regular site inspections to uphold quality standards; perform testing with tools such as ohmmeters to verify electrical systems related to concrete curing or embedded components.
Experience
- Proven management experience supervising concrete construction projects on-site with a strong understanding of heavy civil or commercial concrete work.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management practices including project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and construction plans; familiarity with construction estimating processes.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards aligned with OSHA guidelines.
- Strong understanding of quality control procedures specific to concrete work; experience using testing equipment like ohmmeters for electrical components verification.
- Familiarity with contracts management and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
