Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using eClinicalWorks electronic health record (EHR).
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process payments or collections accurately.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating medical records and documentation review.
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA policies, and review clinical documentation for completeness.
- Support clinic team operations by filing medical records, and coordinating with clinical staff for care plans or intake procedures.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks to document patient interactions thoroughly and efficiently.
- Assist with wellness service appointment check-in, payments, explaining and selling products, and scheduling.
- Perform clerical tasks as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in medical reception or administrative support within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including eligibility and benefits verification.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems, preferably with eClinicalWorks.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person.
- Professional appearance.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies (HIPAA), and health information management standards.
- Adept at using Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams while providing exceptional patient service.
