ROLE OVERVIEW
As an Bookkeeper for Vertex will help manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple locations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will assist our accounting department, handling general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, month-end close, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic, growing multi-unit location environment. Bilingual English and Mandarin required
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure accuracy in all financial transactions, including reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor accounts.
- Work with the Controller to lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely reporting of financial statements.
- Prepare journal entries, financial statements, and variance analysis to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory accounting.
- Work with the accounting team to develop and implement policies and procedures that improve efficiency and financial controls.
- Prepare reports for management, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Collaborate with operations and management teams to gather relevant financial data for decision-making.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes for multiple locations.
- Provide financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, and cost-saving opportunities across locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit industry.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience in financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with multi-location accounting and consolidations.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory, and cost of goods management.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance and tax regulations.
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred.
