Position Summary:
The Fire Alarm Superintendent will lead, manage, and execute large-scale commercial fire alarm installation projects across the Gulf Coast region. This role requires a "road warrior" mindset, as it involves traveling to commercial construction jobsites to manage operations from initial rough-in through final commissioning and fire marshal sign-off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code), schematics, and system design specifications
- Supervise field service technicians during routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of fire alarm systems
- Read blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings to accurately interpret system layouts and design modifications
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, and project timelines
- Collaborate with project managers and clients on system design enhancements and sales opportunities for fire alarm systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and low voltage electrical equipment to install sensors, control panels, and other system components
- Maintain detailed records of installation progress, service reports, schematics updates, and compliance documentation
Requirements:
- Valid Fire Alarm License
- Willingness to travel
- Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, inspection, or servicing with a strong understanding of fire sprinkler fitting and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and electrical wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring practices, sensors, alarms systems sales strategies, and fire alarm sales processes
- Hands-on experience with field service operations using hand tools and power tools in construction or service environments
- Solid electrical experience including familiarity with NEC standards related to fire alarm systems
- Ability to interpret system design documents accurately and implement modifications as needed
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with teams and clients effectively
- Valid certifications in fire alarm systems or related fields are preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $38.00 - $48.00 per hour
