Title: Temporary Janitorial Worker
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Summary: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, we are looking for a driven cleaner who works closely with the operations/facilities team. Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness of the museum.
Timeline: August 24th - September 14th
Schedule: Monday - Friday 10AM-6PM Required
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily cleaning and restocking of all restrooms, including removal of trash and diaper bins
- Daily cleaning of all public, staff, and back-of-house spaces including but not limited to floors, walls, carpets, ceilings, furniture, glass, mirrors, cabinets, tables, light fixtures, doors, door hardware, chairs, elevators, exhibits
- Including but not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, spill cleaning, brushing, polishing
- Ensuring the daily cleanliness and maintenance of the museum
- Assist the Facilities and Operations Manager as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of janitorial experience
- Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 30 pounds
- Strong communication skills required
- Takes pride in their professional work
- Must be teachable and willing to learn processes
- Able to follow instructions
Working Conditions:
- Position requires ability to walk, stand, and vacuum for extended periods while maintaining alertness.
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing at least 30 pounds.
- Position requires bending, leaning, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and walking.

- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate needs.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
