Overview
We are looking for a driven Hotel Controller to provide strategic financial leadership for La Valenica Hotel. The right candidate will guide financial performance, support property leaders in delivering consistent results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Oversee core financial functions across the entire Hotel.
- Process Month-end close and Year-end close.
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements and analyses.
- Ensure State and City tax compliance.
- Partner with General Manager and Executive Committees to identify cost controls.
- Guide properties in annual operating plans, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Monitor and enhance internal controls and inventory management.
- Process Manual checks including expense reports and final checks.
- Ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.
- Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll.
- Enter and audit proper GL and financial journal entries.
- Manage accounting team.
- Additional responsibility may be assigned by manager as needed.
SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge Microsoft Suite, including Excel.
- Conducting and completing Audits.
- Balancing budget sheets.
- Creating and managing Hotel Budgets at the department level.
- Knowledge understanding financial statements.
- Knowledge of Transient Occupant Tax (TOT).
- Attention to detail and clear communication. Able to translate complex accounting topics for non-accounting team members.
- Experience with Opera, M3 Accounting, InfoGenesis, Hotel Effectiveness, iBuy, and B4T a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- At least 5 years of finance leadership in a hospitality environment.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit/work at a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range: $125,000-$135,000 depending on experience
