Job Title: Estimator - Los Angeles County area
Company Description: MC Contracting is seeking a seasoned Estimator experienced in costing self-perform renovation work of existing commercial, hospitality and HOA projects. Must have working knowledge with estimating, reading drawings, RFI’s, change orders, identify potential exposures and/or risk involved while staying on schedule so projects are completed timely.
Tasks Include but not limited to:
- Build estimates based on a practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing and means and methods of a project.
- Be a key collaborator for new and existing subcontractor relationships for estimating, bidding and project award.
- Prepare detailed construction cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
- Collaborate with project team, engineers, architects, contractors, and vendors on project cost estimates.
- Negotiating change requests with clients in a professional manner to foster good-will with team members.
- Negotiating subcontracts and material pricing in a fair manner in the best interest of the project.
- Fostering a culture of safety on project sites.
- Complete Budgeting and Scheduling for projects and track same. Monitor progress, requisition change orders and identify any potential risks.
- Ensure site personnel and Superintendents are provided with proper documentation related to the project.
- Collaborates with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
- Defines project scope, identifies project resources needed, develops project management plan/project schedules, and develops a plan for project execution
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction estimating and project management; specific experience in framing and exterior envelope trades.
- Experience in pricing self-performed wood framing and structural components a plus.
- Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication, and effective listening skills.
- Ability to work in an office and in the field in a fast-paced environment with variable working hours.
- PlanSwift, Build, and/or Bluebeam experience a plus

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
