Driveway Dumpsters is hiring a full-time Scale House Operator for our Batavia, Ohio location. This position is responsible for operating a truck scale, assisting customers and truck drivers, entering transactions accurately, and helping keep daily scale operations running smoothly.
This is an hourly position working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The schedule includes approximately one hour of overtime each day.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the truck scale and process incoming and outgoing truck traffic
- Greet and assist customers, drivers, and vendors in a professional manner
- Enter scale transactions accurately into the company system
- Answer questions regarding scale procedures, pricing, and customer account information
- Communicate with dispatch, office staff, and management as needed
- Maintain organized records and daily paperwork
- Assist with basic reporting using Excel and Google Sheets
- Multitask in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining accuracy
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets preferred
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Ability to work with truck drivers and customers in a professional manner
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Prior scale house, dispatch, customer service, or office experience is helpful but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay: $21.00 per hour
- Pay increases to $22.00 per hour after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period
- Overtime included in the regular weekly schedule
- Holiday time, vacation time, and benefits available after the 90-day probationary period
