Precious Lambs Early Learning Academy is looking for a reliable Family Child Care Assistant & Preschool Teacher for our licensed in-home program. A genuine passion for educating and nurturing young children is a must. We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and organized Preschool Teacher to join our family child care home. In this role, you will create a joyful, safe, and stimulating environment. You will implement age-appropriate activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, helping our young learners prepare for future schooling.
This role combines preschool instruction with daily caregiving in a home environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction
- Plan and Implement: Develop and lead daily hands-on, play-based lessons (e.g., arts and crafts, storytelling, music) covering foundational skills like letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and early literacy.
- Milestone Tracking: Observe, document, and assess children's developmental progress using age-appropriate tools.
- Individualized Learning: Adapt lesson plans and activities to suit various learning styles and developmental needs.
Child Care & Daily Routines
- Basic Needs: Attend to children's daily needs, including feeding, dressing, diapering, and potty training.
- Nutrition: Assist in serving and cleaning up nutritious, child-friendly meals and snacks in accordance with dietary and food program guidelines.
- Routines: Establish and maintain consistent daily routines that balance active play, learning, and rest/nap times.
- Safety: Enforce safety and emergency procedures. Supervise children at all times—including during indoor/outdoor play and neighborhood walks.
Behavior & Classroom Management
- Positive Guidance: Use positive behavior management strategies to encourage prosocial behavior, problem-solving, and conflict resolution among children.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized indoor/outdoor learning environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Age Limit: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or GED. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development is highly preferred.
- ECE Units: Typically requires completion of core Early Childhood Development courses (e.g., Child Growth & Development, Child, Family & Community).
- Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on professional experience working with children in a licensed daycare, preschool, or family child care environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and foster positive interactions among children
- Compassionate caregiving skills combined with patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication abilities
- Certifications: Current First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification.
- Health Screening: Provide a negative TB test and proof of immunizations.
- Licensing Requirements: Must pass required state background checks (e.g., Live Scan) and meet all state health, immunization, and licensing mandates.
- Physical Demands: High energy level is a must. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, frequently bend, squat, sit on the floor, and actively participate in physical activities with children.
