Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Swiss/ Lathe Setup Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating the swiss screw machines and multi-spindle lathe machines. Individual will adhere to current ISO requirements and observe all safety and housekeeping requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Responsible for operation of swiss an lathe machines; including, loading bar stock, filling fluids, and removing chips from machine.
- Responsible for performing setup on swiss and lathe machine; including, tooling changes and adjustments to ensure continued conformance to specifications.
- Responsible for conformance with quality specifications.
- Ability to assist other in trouble shooting, and maintenance activities.
- Ability to assist in training others on operation and setup of swiss and lathe machines.
- General Housekeeping of work area.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, including the ability to fabricate components using hand tools and welding techniques.
- Familiarity with operating cranes for material handling is preferred.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T principles.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
