Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Worker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal products, ensuring safety standards are upheld and technical specifications are met. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to accurately fabricate sheet metal components.
- Operate a variety of fabrication machinery including press brake machines, CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines.
- Set up and calibrate machining tools and equipment to ensure precise cuts and formations according to project requirements.
- Measure finished products using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify quality and adherence to specifications.
- Perform welding, forming, and assembly tasks while following strict safety protocols and quality standards in production.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety standards are consistently followed during machine operation and material handling.
- Conduct routine inspections of materials and finished parts for defects or deviations from blueprint specifications; document findings accurately for quality control purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math for accurate fabrication.
- Experience operating CNC machinery including laser cutting systems, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and other automated fabrication tools.
- Skilled in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG or arc welding with a strong understanding of safety standards in welding environments.
- Mechanical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including forming, stamping, bending with press brake machines and forming machines.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, gauges for quality inspection and measurement accuracy.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to machine operation, crane handling, and material storage within manufacturing settings.
- Strong shop math skills combined with mechanical knowledge necessary for setup and troubleshooting machining tools.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC programming, tooling setup, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings is highly desirable.
- Excellent hand tool skills along with the ability to operate cranes safely when handling heavy sheet metal materials.
