Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Part-Time Paralegal or Legal Assistant with hands-on probate experience to join our growing Broward County law firm. This is a collaborative, supportive environment where your expertise will make a direct impact for our clients every day. After successful training and orientation, we are open to allowing the right candidate to work from home.
Location & Schedule
- Primary Training Location: Hallandale Beach office
- Secondary Location: Plantation office
- Schedule: Part-time (hours flexible)
- Remote Work: Work-from-home considered after training and orientation
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with probate matters including estate administration, petitions, and court filings
- Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
- Coordinate court filings and track deadlines across active matters
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Maintain organized, accurate case files and documentation
- Schedule hearings, depositions, and client meetings
- Support attorneys on family law, guardianship, and civil matters as needed
- Conduct legal research as directed
Required Qualifications
- Probate experience: Hands-on experience with probate matters is required — this is the top priority
- Court knowledge: Basic understanding of court procedures and filing requirements
- Proficiency in legal document preparation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Attention to detail; ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Family law experience (welcome, provided probate experience is also present)
- Experience in guardianship or civil litigation matters
- Paralegal certificate or degree
- Familiarity with Florida e-filing systems
- Experience in Broward, Dade, or Palm Beach County courts
