Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Daycare/Preschool Teacher Assistant/Float to join our vibrant team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support classroom activities, assist lead teachers, and ensure a positive experience for every child. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood development, eager to contribute to a collaborative team, and committed to creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities aligned with early childhood development principles.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and fostering social skills among children.
- Help with diapering, feeding, nap times, and other routine care needs in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behaviors, and daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes learning and safety.
- Support special education needs by adapting activities and providing additional assistance as required.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar settings.
- Knowledge of child development instruction, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, Pediatric First Aid preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and abuse prevention.
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift light loads, and perform routine caregiving tasks throughout the day.
- Passion for early childhood education and creating a nurturing environment that supports childhood development.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
