As a Manager in Training your compensation will be $29.83 per hour.
You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:
- You will be entrusted with comprehension of structure, roles and responsibilities within the People & Culture department, with a primary and intensive focus on Learning & Development (L&D). You will gain deep knowledge of our operating standards, developing an in-depth understanding of the collection’s mission, values, and the hotel’s Pledge, demonstrating the competency to present and explain critical policies: such as attendance, grooming, benefits, and conduct with absolute clarity.
- Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires cultivating an elite service culture through continuous education. While your main priority will be mastering L&D, you will also be relied upon to understand our digital HR ecosystem, learning to navigate various HRIS platforms: including Talent-Soft, DC Legends, LEX, and Paycom, while gaining insight into our ESG initiatives and sustainability goals.
- Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. As a training specialist, you must champion communication methods for all L&D initiatives and P&C events across multiple channels: including bulletin boards, corporate emails, and daily operational line-ups, ensuring complete training alignment across the extended hotel team.
- The ultimate goal is for our Managers-In-Training to spearhead educational excellence and work independently. You will be learning to manage, supervise, and execute the growth and development of our team. You will directly partner with and shadow our Learning & Development Manager through dynamic sessions, master the delivery of Dorchester training programs alongside mandatory California compliance sessions, and step into a leadership role by designing and leading live training modules.
- You will also gain vital cross-functional exposure to the full talent acquisition cycle to understand how training begins at day one. You will shadow candidate screenings and interviews following skills-based recruitment training, and you will oversee the full onboarding cycle of new hires, illustrating the critical link between early onboarding and long-term training success.
- You’ll also document and observe essential employee relations matters to understand how continuous training prevents operational challenges.
As well as learning how to handle employee engagement, you will use your training and communication skills to cultivate our community. You will take a hands-on role in planning, organizing, and executing diverse employee events that elevate morale, reinforce our educational goals, and celebrate our unique team culture.

- Previous experience in a luxury hospitality, is preferred.
- Basic familiarity with human resources practices, labor standards, or training compliance
- Our Managers-In-Training must have a completed degree in one of the following areas within one year of program: hospitality, human resources, sales & marketing, food & beverage, business administration.
