Position Summary
We need that special someone to help grow our Maintenance Department. This individuals’ primary responsibilities will focus on preventative maintenance, installation and repair of all plant equipment. This position troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs a wide variety of equipment including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controls). Heavy emphasis will focus on compliance with safety standards for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing facility working closely with operations including supervisors and leads to understand and prioritize the shop’s needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures throughout the plant safely
- Ensure maintenance of equipment and repairs when required
- Participate in equipment installation and help during start-ups
- Test equipment in order to assure productivity and performance
- Respect safety standards of the company and maintain a clean work environment
- Ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures such as Lockout/Tag out, Confined Space, PPE are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the machinery
- Provide support to operations in running machines at standard speeds to maximize efficiency and productivity
- Respond quickly to address downtime issues promptly and effectively
- Lead and/or participate with root cause analysis for operating problems including the identification of contributing causes for unplanned downtime and work to eliminate the root cause to drive continuous improvement
- Repairing equipment such as pumps, motors, controls and other components
- Show proficiency in mechanical rebuilds and repairs such as gearboxes, install bearings and seals
- Repairs to 3 phase woodworking machinery, compressed air systems and hydraulic systems
- Fabricating parts, operating machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, etc.
- Perform complex electrical and controls installation and repair equipment
- Install, test, calibrate, maintain and repair a variety of equipment
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and instrumentation problems
- Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance or repair work for including but not limited to, plumbing, HVAC, appliance, water irrigation, gates, fences, flooring roofing, lighting (interior & exterior), cabinetry, doors, locks, windows, water leaks, security systems and fire protection equipment
- Repair domestic as well as imported equipment used in manufacturing
Experience/Qualifications
- Associates degree in related field of study or equivalent relevant education/experience;
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Fabrication, Welding and Cutting Skills
- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of equipment based on industrial process controls – PLC Programmable Logic Controls, In Process measuring devices, data transmission, storage devices and drives
- Strong knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, instrumentation and control
- Ability to understand and follow various guidelines and working procedures (health and safety, hygiene and sanitation)
- Must have the ability to be certified on scissor lifts and forklifts
- Positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, leads and shopfloor employees
- Ability to work Independently (self-motivator)
- Ability to manage and organize priorities

TOOLS: (This position must provide their own tools)
- A good selection Metric and SAE wrenches and sockets, screwdrivers and other misc. hand tools up to 1” and 25mm
- Measuring devices such as calipers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, testing meters, etc.

Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk and sit alternatively depending on specific needs of the day

- Work indoors and outdoors (in various weather)
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing facility.
Environment outside in Production area is based on outside climate. Able to withstand heat and cold.
This is an onsite position.

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
