Fulfillment & Inventory Specialist
Company: SMR Collectibles
Location: Amityville, NY (100% On-Site / Open Warehouse Environment)
Position Type: Full-time, In-Person
Compensation: $17.00–$22.00 per hour
Benefits: 401(k) matching, Paid Time Off (PTO)
About Us
SMR Collectibles is a high-volume, rapidly expanding force in the sports cards and memorabilia industry. As an authorized dealer for leading grading services (PSA, CGC, and JSA), we manage thousands of high-value items weekly across major online marketplaces like eBay, live-streamed selling platforms, and national trade shows.
We are looking for a focused, high-energy Fulfillment & Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role is a hybrid of meticulous shipping execution, precise inventory management, and digital staging. Because we handle high-value, authentic collectibles, your attention to detail and care are what ensure our products reach collectors worldwide safely and accurately.
The Role
This is not a slow-paced, isolated packing job. You will be working right in the thick of an open, high-energy warehouse environment where live marketplace demands dictate our daily pace. If you are a naturally organized person who loves keeping systems running smoothly, thrives on hitting daily shipping deadlines, and has a sharp eye for detail, you will excel here. An interest in or familiarity with sports cards, trading card games (TCG), or collectibles is a massive asset.
Responsibilities
- Fulfillment & Secure Shipping: Prepare and package outgoing orders safely and accurately. Choose appropriate shipping carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc.) based on destination, cost, and insurance needs. Print/apply accurate shipping labels and ensure tracking information is entered correctly.
- Inventory Control & Pick/Pack: Pull high-value items from warehouse shelves accurately based on system pick lists. Double-check SKUs, descriptions, and item conditions before packaging. Merge inventory as new files are listed on online platforms and restock returned or unsold items in their precise locations.
- Receiving & Auditing: Assist with receiving incoming inventory by verifying counts, condition, and accuracy against purchase orders. Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to identify and report low-stock or misplaced inventory.
- Digital Staging & Photography: Photograph cards and collectibles according to company standards for staging, lighting, and clarity. Ensure images match inventory labels perfectly and are correctly uploaded to the appropriate listings, handling all items with extreme care.
- Supply Chain & Station Management: Monitor packaging supply levels (boxes, tape, labels, sleeves, bubble wrap). Perform weekly audits of supplies, request restocks proactively, and keep shipping stations immaculate and fully stocked at all times.
- Team Collaboration & Show Prep: Communicate effectively with the processing and sales teams regarding order status or delays. Assist with show preparation duties as needed, including palletizing, bulk labeling, and trade show booth prep.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience Range: 0–2 years of experience. We are eager to train a candidate with the right work ethic, but prior experience in e-commerce fulfillment, retail shipping, or inventory management gives you a strong head start.
- Education: High School Degree (minimum).
- Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from our Amityville workplace.
- Platform Knowledge: Experience using eBay and familiarity with shipping software like ShipStation is highly preferred.
- Extreme Attention to Detail: Precise focus is required to verify exact serial numbers, card grades, and conditions. You must naturally double-check your work to catch discrepancies or missing stock.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, work comfortably in an open warehouse environment, and handle shipping materials (packing tape, boxes, etc.) efficiently throughout the day.
- Tech-Savvy & Trainable: Solid computer skills, including strong typing speed and comfort updating internal spreadsheets, warehouse software, and online marketplaces.
- Industry Familiarity: Familiarity with the sports cards and collectibles industry is a massive plus. Having collectibles-specific shipping experience is a distinct advantage.
- Attitude: A positive, eager-to-learn attitude with a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
