Assistant Dining Room Manager

KELP Sushi Joint is seeking a strong Assistant Dining Room Manager to help lead front-of-house operations in a fast-paced, high-volume sushi restaurant.
This is a management position ideal for someone who thrives on the floor, leads by example, and is comfortable working across multiple locations.
Position Overview
The Assistant Dining Room Manager supports the Dining Room Manager and ownership in overseeing daily front-of-house operations. This role focuses on guest experience, staff leadership, service standards, and floor execution.
This position requires flexibility and willingness to train and work at both KELP Sushi Joint locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily FOH operations during lunch and dinner service
- Lead servers, hosts, bussers, and support staff on shift
- Maintain high standards for guest service, cleanliness, and professionalism
- Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance feedback
- Help manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow during peak hours
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues calmly and professionally
- Support scheduling, shift coverage, and time-off coordination
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and service standards
- Communicate clearly with kitchen, sushi bar, and management team
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant management or supervisory role (FOH preferred)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and decisive during busy service
- Excellent guest service mindset and attention to detail
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willing and able to train and work at both locations
- Sushi or upscale casual dining experience is a plus (but not required)
