Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse will play a vital role in supporting individuals recovering from opioid use disorder by administering medication, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Key Duties:
- Administer methadone and other prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols.
- Perform nursing assessments, including vital signs, and patient health screenings.
- Monitor patient for adverse reactions and report concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to opioid treatment programs.
- Provide education to patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and overall wellness.
- Maintain medication inventory, storage, and security per regulatory guidelines.
- Promote a respectful, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment for all patients.
Reports to: Nurse Manager of the Methadone Clinic
Required:
- Current Illinois License as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or become licensed within 30 days of hire.
- Previous nursing experience required; experience in substance use treatment or behavioral health preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration and clinical documentation standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
