Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Full-time Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs to help patients of all ages improve their functional abilities and quality of life. You will work across diverse settings—including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health environments—delivering evidence-based interventions that promote independence and well-being. Your expertise will support patients with a wide range of needs, including neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, post-acute recovery, and chronic conditions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams committed to excellence in patient care.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ motor skills, sensory processing, cognition, and daily living activities to develop tailored treatment plans.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility exercises to foster independence.
- Design and implement therapeutic interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or recovering from injury or illness.
- Collaborate with physicians, speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and families to coordinate care plans and discharge strategies.
- Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR), including progress notes, treatment plans, and outcome reports.
- Provide education and training to patients, caregivers, teachers, and staff on strategies to support ongoing therapy goals at home or in educational settings.
- Participate in case management activities such as discharge planning and follow-up assessments to ensure seamless transitions across care environments.
- Support early intervention programs for infants and toddlers as well as school-based services for students with disabilities or special education needs.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations by adhering to medical terminology standards and best practices in evidence-based therapy.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to physiology, anatomy knowledge, autism spectrum disorders support, speech therapy integration, and neurodevelopmental disorder management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; licensure or certification required according to regional regulations.
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as inpatient care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or schools.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy interventions.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to develop care plans based on comprehensive assessments and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists and case managers.
- Ability to assist clients with ADLs effectively while maintaining a positive and motivating approach.
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes for post-acute care or home health environments is advantageous.
