Business Development Manager – Reverse Logistics & 3PL Solutions

Position Summary
SVT Supply Chain is seeking a results-driven Business Development Representative / Sales Account Manager to drive revenue growth by developing new client relationships and expanding existing accounts across our full suite of third-party logistics (3PL) solutions. This role will place particular emphasis on growing our Reverse Logistics and Returns Management services while identifying opportunities to provide warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, inventory management, and value-added supply chain solutions.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of supply chain operations, consultative selling skills, and the ability to identify operational challenges and develop customized logistics solutions that create measurable value for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within target industries.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through networking, referrals, outbound prospecting, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer supply chain challenges and opportunities.
- Present customized 3PL solutions aligned with client operational and financial objectives.
- Generate and manage sales opportunities through the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract execution.
Reverse Logistics Focus
- Promote SVT's Reverse Logistics capabilities, including:
- Returns Management
- Refurbishment Programs
- Inspection & Grading Services
- Repair & Rework Solutions
- Product Recovery Programs
- Recycling & Disposition Services
- Warranty Processing
- Identify manufacturers, retailers, e-commerce companies, and distributors with complex return management requirements.
- Develop strategies to position reverse logistics as a value-added profit center rather than a cost center.
Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Develop long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance discussions.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure service delivery exceeds customer expectations.
- Manage contract renewals and pricing discussions.
Strategic Growth
- Work closely with operations leadership to understand service capabilities and capacity.
- Participate in pricing, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market opportunities.
- Represent SVT Supply Chain at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.

Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of B2B sales, business development, or account management experience.
- Experience selling logistics, supply chain, transportation, warehousing, or operational services.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to travel as needed for customer meetings and industry events.
Preferred
- Experience in 3PL, reverse logistics, supply chain consulting, or transportation services.
- Existing network within manufacturing, retail, consumer products, electronics, medical device, or e-commerce sectors.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain KPIs.
- CRM experience (HubSpot.).

Compensation Structure
Base Salary
$70,000
Commission
- Uncapped commission plan
- New business commission on gross margin generated
- Additional incentives for reverse logistics program wins
- Account growth commissions for expanding existing customers
Target Earnings
- Year 1 OTE: $120,000 – $180,000+
- High performers: $200,000+
