Mirka is building a production facility in Plainfield, IN to make sanding products for sale in North America. We are currently seeking Production Operators.
The Production Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery on Mirka’s abrasive converting and packaging production equipment, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products while adhering to quality and safety standards, monitoring production processes, performing minor repairs, and inspecting finished products for compliance.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
· Running and controlling assigned machinery on the production line, including adjusting settings as needed.
· Monitoring production processes to identify and report any quality issues with products, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
· Performing minor repairs and troubleshooting on assigned equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
· Tracking production rates and output, identifying potential bottlenecks and reporting issues to supervisors.
· Following all safety procedures and protocols while operating machinery, reporting any hazards.
· Maintaining production logs and records, documenting any issues or adjustments made.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including dust, which may require the use of PPE. The noise level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work.
