Long Term Substitute Art Teacher at McCall Middle School; grades 6-8, CAW
Preferred Applicants for the Art Teacher position should have the following, but not limited to:

Licensure in Secondary Art 5-12 in the state of Massachusetts or equivalent

Experience with instruction on a wide variety of materials

Solid understanding of the State and National art standards

Broad knowledge of and familiarity with historical and contemporary artists and period styles, the techniques and processes associated with drawing, painting, and three-dimensional studio materials, and a working knowledge of the elements and principles of art and design.

Flexibility and a willingness to learn and try new things

Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate.
Role & Responsibilities: the Art Teacher will:

Provide opportunities for students to work and share collaboratively and to develop a strong sense of respect for self and others, while helping young students appreciate art and develop their own artistic expressions.

Work cooperatively with a team to uphold a strong school program incorporating both state and district frameworks.

Assess student performance/work and communicate feedback to students and families regularly through district-designated evaluation procedures and protocols.

Align Content and instruction to the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks and to district scope and sequences.

Abide by state statutes, school board policies, district handbook, and regulations.

Remain current by participating in ongoing professional development activities within and out-of-district, such as instructional technology.

Carry out all other duties assigned by the Principal or WPS Administration.
