Human Resources Specialist
The HR Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for employees and leaders seeking Human Resources support. This role delivers exceptional customer service by responding to HR inquiries, supporting HR systems and processes, coordinating employee transactions, and ensuring accurate administration of HR programs.
The HR Specialist partners closely with Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and HR leadership to provide timely, accurate, and solutions-oriented support while maintaining confidentiality and a positive employee experience
Essential Duties:
HR Customer Service

Serve as the first point of contact for employees and HR inquiries.
- Manage the Human Resources shared inbox and ensure timely responses.
- Provide guidance with a wide range of general questions regarding:
- PTO
- Timekeeping
- Payroll questions
- Benefits
- Transfers
- Employment verification
- Policies and procedures
- General HR processes
- Escalate complex employee relations or policy matters to HR leadership.
HR Operations

Process employee personnel transactions including:
- Transfers
- Promotions
- Status changes
- Compensation changes
- Department changes
- Maintain accurate employee records within Paycom.
- Prepare and process HR documentation.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Coordinate employee file maintenance and document retention.
Payroll & Timekeeping Support

Assist employees with time clock troubleshooting.
- Support leaders with timekeeping questions.
- Review and resolve routine payroll issues.
- Prepares and maintains all supporting documentation for manual payroll entries.

Partner with Payroll to resolve discrepancies.
- Educate employees regarding payroll and timekeeping processes.
Benefits Administration Support

Respond to routine benefit questions.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and life event changes.
- Coordinate with benefit vendors as needed.
- Support annual Open Enrollment activities.
New Employee Orientation
- Complete the new-hire process in Paycom

Support New Employee Orientation as needed

Backup to facilitate New Employee Orientation
HR Systems

Maintain accurate records in HRIS system.

Troubleshoot Paycom issues.
- Run reports for HR leadership as needed.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
Compliance

Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Support HR audits.
- Maintain accurate personnel documentation.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve HR processes.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives.
- Support organizational change efforts.
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Three (3) or more years of Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions.
- HRIS experience required; Paycom preferred.
- Experience in healthcare or behavioral health preferred.
- Experience working in a multi-state environment preferred.

Multi state regulation knowledge.

- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
