Reporting To: IT Operations Managers
Overview:
Under the direction of IT Operations Management, performs intermediate cloud and systems administration functions that provide reliable operations, connectivity, and functionality and ensure secure access for CSAC, WSCTF, QUADC, and WSRCC users. Monitors, maintains, and enhances assigned applications, systems, Voice over IP (VoIP) communications platforms, and cloud infrastructure; assesses and migrates merged-site on-premises infrastructure as needed; works closely with technical staff to maintain systems, communications, and application security and integrity; supports Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and automation solutions; trains end users; prepares project and program communications; and performs related duties as assigned.
Position Functions and Responsibilities at an Intermediate Level:
- Support new business development initiatives.
- Monitor and manage Azure infrastructure solutions, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, and Azure Active Directory.
- Facilitate day-to-day project development activities, including participating in meetings, preparing deliverables, and managing relevant communications.
- Install, manage, monitor, configure, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, servers, applications, and enterprise systems; plan upgrades and coordinate cloud and server-related projects; maintain work records and configuration documentation.
- Administer, maintain, and support VoIP systems, unified communications platforms, call-routing infrastructure, voicemail services, and cloud-based telephony solutions.
- Provide initial training on new systems upon deployment in the form and format determined at that time.
- Assist with maintaining the overall integrity of cloud systems, server deployments, applications, communications systems, and security; analyze resource utilization and implement solutions to improve performance, reliability, and availability.
- Develop specifications for software, hardware, telecommunications, AI, and cloud-related purchases; assist with gathering and reviewing vendor quotes.
- Evaluate, implement, and support AI technologies, automation platforms, and AI-powered business applications to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and user productivity.
- Research emerging AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and communications technologies and provide recommendations regarding adoption, security, governance, and operational improvements.
- Participate in cloud systems, VoIP, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and AI-related projects; support large-scale implementations, upgrades, migrations, and equipment rollouts; develop upgrade strategies and procedures; and troubleshoot conversion and implementation issues.
- Provide on-call support for production servers, network systems, communications systems, and computing infrastructure as assigned; provide backup support to infrastructure systems and technical support teams.
OTHER DUTIES
- Monitor trends and developments in systems, networking, cloud, AI, VoIP, and multi-platform communication technologies; consult with vendors and other sources regarding industry and product direction, functionality, and capabilities.
- Provide excellent customer service to all CSAC stakeholders.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience and knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and systems administration.
- Administrative experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, Azure Active Directory, and cloud-based enterprise environments.
- Experience managing Active Directory, identity management, and access control systems.
- Experience administering and supporting VoIP systems, IP telephony platforms, unified communications, call management systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Knowledge and practical experience with AI, machine learning concepts, automation technologies, AI-powered productivity tools, and enterprise AI solutions.
- Experience evaluating, implementing, securing, and supporting AI solutions within cloud and enterprise environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot, AI-assisted business applications, and emerging technologies that improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to effectively engage and support historically minoritized groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive, service-oriented practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all those encountered in the course of work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone, VoIP, 8X8, Zoom Phone, or similar enterprise telephony platforms.
- Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365, Cisco, or other relevant industry certifications.
- Experience with Azure AI Services, Microsoft Copilot Studio, automation platforms, AI governance, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience supporting hybrid and multi-site enterprise environments.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position has no supervisory responsibility but may be required to lead projects and technology initiatives.
