Job Overview
Tree Boss is hiring a hands-on Lead Arborist / Tree Crew Leader & Estimator to support tree service operations, perform property assessments, and work directly alongside the crew.
This is a field‑based, physical role for someone who can evaluate tree care needs, sell work, and still jump in to help tow equipment, run jobs, and rake at the end of the day. We’re looking for a leader with no ego—someone who leads by doing.
Key ResponsibilitiesTree Service Estimating & Customer Assessments
- Perform on-site tree service assessments for:
- Tree removal
- Tree trimming and pruning
- General tree care services
- Prepare and present estimates clearly and professionally
- Educate customers on tree health, safety, and best practices
- Help close work and support company revenue growth
Crew Leadership & Field Operations
- Work alongside the tree crew between assessments
- Lead by example with a hands-on, team-first approach
- Assist with job planning, setup, execution, and cleanup
- Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
- Serve as a bridge between customers and field operations
Equipment Operation & Support
- Tow trucks, trailers, and equipment to and from job sites
- Operate and assist with equipment such as:
- Bucket trucks
- Skid steers
- Grapple trucks
- Cranes
- Jump in wherever needed—from rigging to cleanup—to keep jobs moving
What We’re Looking For
- Strong work ethic and willingness to be hands-on in the field
- Leadership attitude without ego—no one is above the work
- Ability to balance customer-facing responsibilities with physical labor
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certified Arborist (preferred)
- Experience in tree service, arboriculture, or landscaping
- Prior experience as a crew leader, foreman, or estimator
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- CDL Class A license (preferred)
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
