Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to digestive health, including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other minimally invasive interventions.
- Conduct patient related skills including vital signs, medical history review, and IV insertion.
- Support patient education on pre- and post-procedure care, such as dietary restrictions, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and support staff utilizing EMR
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in laboratory specimen collection, processing, and documentation to facilitate accurate diagnostic evaluation.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State nursing license with current registration.
- Valid BLS certification
- Experience in medical-surgical units or hospital settings preferred; endoscopy experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation.
- Experience working in diverse clinical environments such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency rooms, or specialty care centers like gastroenterology or is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge related to gastrointestinal health, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
