Buffalo Materials Handling is seeking a full-time CDL Driver to safely transport material handling and heavy equipment throughout the Western New York region. This position requires professionalism, attention to safety, and the ability to properly secure and deliver equipment in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local motor carrier laws.
- Load, transport, and unload material handling equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers/scrubbers, and related machinery.
- Safely load, transport, and unload material handling equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers/scrubbers, and related machinery - at both dock height and ground level locations.
- Ability to safely operate a manual transmission commercial vehicle (8-speed manual transmission)
- Verify equipment serial numbers and delivery documentation.
- Complete Bills of Lading (BOLs), driver logs, and other required paperwork accurately.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicle.
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal team members
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS Class A or Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
- Current USDOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
- Ability to pass DOT-required drug screening.
- Experience securing flatbed loads preferred (training available).
- Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required.
- Rollback truck experience a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to work in outdoor and all-weather conditions.
- Physical ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
