Overview
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a diverse range of heavy machinery and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, allowing us to meet the demands of our projects. What you’ll do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on various heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, and transmission servicing.
- Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and hydraulic components effectively.
- Conduct fabrication work as needed to modify or enhance equipment functionality.
- Operate diagnostic tools to assess vehicle performance and implement necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
Basic qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy equipment operation and repair.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for various repair tasks.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, air brake systems, alignment procedures, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in a dealership environment or as a service technician is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards for equipment maintenance.
- Skills in soldering, tire service, assembly, and general equipment repair are advantageous.
- Previous experience with diesel engine repair is a plus.
