Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Therapist to join our multidisciplinary mental health and behavioral services team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in behavioral health interventions, with expertise in psychotherapy, behavior management, and working with diverse populations, including children, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those experiencing mental health challenges. As a Behavior Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based treatment plans, supporting patient progress, and fostering positive behavioral change through individualized care. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy.
- Implement therapeutic interventions across various modalities including individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
- Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure client safety during acute episodes or behavioral escalations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, monitor progress, and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to provide remote therapy sessions while ensuring confidentiality and data security.
- Support patients with diverse needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, addiction issues, grief, chronic pain, and gender-related counseling.
- Participate in clinical research activities or data collection efforts to contribute to ongoing program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, or in pediatric settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience with crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols within inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding standards, and HIPAA compliance.
- Background in social work, clinical counseling, or related mental health disciplines is preferred.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering remote patient care effectively.
