GENERAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs and leads diverse recreational, educational, and community programs for all ages.
Plans and oversees seasonal camps, after-school programs, arts & culture events, and special interest classes.
Develops and facilitates field trips and group activities, ensuring engaging and educational experiences.
Coordinates nature-based programs, including guided hikes, environmental education, and conservation-focused activities.
Lead comprehensive project management efforts for all assigned programs, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, risk mitigation, and post-event evaluation.
Serve as the primary project liaison for internal initiatives, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder alignment, and timely completion of deliverables.
Cleans, straightens, and resets exhibits, animal enclosures, and public spaces throughout the day.
Assists with building relationships with schools, community organizations, and local businesses to increase program participation.
Assists with planning and coordinating program schedules, locations, and materials across multiple parks.
Supports special events and program promotion through outreach, flyer creation, and occasional community representation
Attends regularly scheduled departmental and all-staff meetings, annual staff training day, and any additional mandatory meetings.
Ensures safety procedures and risk management for indoor and outdoor activities.
Maintains program equipment and supplies, ensuring proper use and storage.
Assists with the installation and upkeep of temporary exhibits and program displays.
Conducts set up and break down of all events and community room programs as needed.
Tracks and evaluates program success using attendance data, surveys, and feedback.
Assists with purchasing and associated reporting for programs and events.
Maintains accurate records of program participation and operational procedures.
Maintains electronic and paper filing and record systems to provide easy access to records and information; provides retention of records as required by Department and County policies.
