Position Summary
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Accounting Department through financial reporting, account reconciliations, balance sheet management, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives.
This position assists in preparing financial reports and maintaining records of assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and other financial activities across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Success in this role requires a take-charge attitude, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and financial reports.

Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and accounting standards.

Assist with daily cash reconciliation activities and balance sheet maintenance.

Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
Reconciliations & Accounting Operations

Perform bank and account reconciliations.

Assist with maintaining inventory and fixed asset records.

Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.

Support cross-functional accounting activities as needed.
Audit & Compliance Support

Assist with preparation for the annual external audit.

Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions and reporting.

Help ensure accounting procedures comply with internal controls and reporting requirements.
Process Improvement & Team Support

Become a subject matter expert in the Great Plains accounting system.

Assist in updating and maintaining accounting process documentation.

Cross-train on key accounting functions and provide backup support for other team members.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and standardization within accounting processes.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.

3+ years of accounting or finance experience.

Previous experience working within an accounting software system.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Ability to operate within corporate policies and established business practices.

Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position located in a professional office environment.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
