Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Industrial Dock and Door Installation Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial dock doors and related equipment on construction sites or within facilities. Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of industrial dock doors, including sectional, overhead, and rolling doors using hand tools and power tools.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
- Perform welding, metal fabrication, and metal stud framing as needed for door fabrication or modifications.
- Conduct glass installation, fixture mounting, cabinet installation, and trim carpentry to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Use construction site experience to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently; operate forklifts or other heavy machinery as required.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with door systems using mechanical knowledge and electrical experience; replace or repair faulty components.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspections completed to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with construction site work including door hanging, framing, remodeling, electrical and welding.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading.
- Mechanical knowledge related to door systems, fixtures, electrical components, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Experience with glass installation, locksmithing or fixture installation is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Prior handyman experience or metal stud framing background preferred; electrical experience is advantageous.
