Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $76,742 to $113,260 based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Montgomery County Public Libraries is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Program Manager – Adult Services within the Central Programing Team. The primary role of this position is to manage systemwide programming for adults and older adults. The Program Manager – Adult Services must be someone who pays attention to detail and is able to manage and track multiple priorities on different timelines. An individual with an interest in outreach, who enjoys making connections small and large is desirable/ Experience managing and balancing priorities for a budget is important. A can do, team-oriented attitude is necessary as the Central Programing Team works collaboratively and in step with branches. If you excel in those areas, this role is for you.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The primary purpose of the position is to manage systemwide programming (for adults and seniors) and special events, lead program management responsibilities for a number of MCPL initiatives, initiate and strengthen relationships with Federal, State, County and non-profit and private sector organizations and strengthen the professional development of MCPL staff.
The successful candidate will:

Manage a budget to implement systemwide programs and special events and to enhance programs and initiatives.

Develop guidelines, policies and procedures to implement programs, both virtually and in-person.

Assign, manage and train staff to facilitate some systemwide programs and special events, implemented both virtually and in-person.

Work closely with other MCPL units and branch staff to successfully market and deliver programs.

Recommend the configuration and composition of MCPL Ad Hoc Working Groups/Committees to their Regional Manager.

Manage the Ad Hoc Working Groups/Committees for Information Staff for Adult Services.

Coordinate and facilitate the trainings/forums for Information Staff for Adult Services as well as other necessary training for staff to improve programming delivery.

Assign work to staff and review completed assignments.

Represent MCPL on committees and at meetings with Federal, State and County partners.

Experience using advanced communication platforms to provide guidance and training on the use of these platforms.
Experience: Three years of professional library experience planning and organizing public or similar services for adults ages 18+.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Medical exam protocol: This position requires completion of a pre-employment medical history form to assess your ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.
License: Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job related duties.
