Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Full-Time Assistant Manager to join our retail team. Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Lead and motivate the retail sales team by providing coaching, training, and development to enhance performance and customer engagement.
- Oversee inventory management activities such as stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities.
- Coordinate purchasing and vendor relations to ensure product availability and optimal stock levels.
- Supervise cashiering functions including POS (Point of Sale) transactions, cashier training, and ensuring accurate cash handling procedures.
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote products and increase store foot traffic while maintaining visual merchandising standards.
- Manage scheduling, shift management, and employee orientation to ensure efficient staffing levels and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry, with a strong background in sales team supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and foster a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and retail math.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, purchasing processes, and store management software is essential.
- Knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing techniques, and operational management practices.
- Ability to handle customer service issues professionally while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or similar retail settings is preferred.
