BAR Constructors, Inc., a prominent heavy-civil municipal general contractor, is looking for a Batch Plant Operator to join our North and Central Texas team. Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for daily inspection of facilities, do necessary repairs and will complete maintenance checklist.
- Ensure all plant equipment is operating at levels necessary to produce products that meet or exceed quality.
- Keeping accurate inventory of cement, fly ash, admixtures, aggregates.
- Maintain proper raw material levels and order as needed (aggregates, cement, additives).
- Competently use, adjust, and troubleshoot command Alkon Software.
- Maintain material inventories and order materials as needed.
- Executes clean up procedures at the end of workday.
- Batches concrete load according to specifications.
- Experience operating a front loader preferred.
- Complete various daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required to assist Accounting.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Training in vocational school or related on-the-job experienced preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete construction.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment.
- 3-5 years previous batch plant operation experienced preferred.
- Skill in the use and care of hand and small tool associated with the work.
- Must be able to work efficiently without supervision.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Concrete mix design.
- ACI Certification a plus.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift to 75 pounds
- Must be able to perform physical activities that required considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling of materials.
- Must be able to work in and outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends.
- Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and safety-minded individual.
- Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noise.
- Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
