Technician Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Ford vehicles and other makes/models
- Diagnose and repair gasoline engine performance concerns
- Service steering, suspension, brake, and climate control systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems and powertrain control/emissions systems
- Perform automatic transmission diagnostics and repairs
- Utilize scanners, electrical diagnostic equipment, AC recovery machines, fluid exchange equipment, and lifts safely and effectively
- Stay current on evolving automotive technology, including ADAS and self-driving vehicle systems
- Communicate repair recommendations and solutions clearly with management and team members
- Work closely with shop management to identify training and development opportunities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Proven track record in automotive diagnostics and repair
- Ford dealership experience required
- Ford certifications preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and flowcharts
- Safe working knowledge of automotive shop tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Valid driver's license required
- Must provide appropriate tools needed for service work performed
