SAFETY & DRIVER RECRUITING COORDINATOR

Salary: $47,000 – $52,000 per year
International System Transport is looking for an experienced Safety & Driver Recruiting Coordinator with previous Safety experience specifically in the trucking industry.
This position requires hands-on experience working with CDL drivers, DOT/FMCSA compliance, driver qualification files, HOS, inspections, violations, and driver hiring.
We need someone who is proactive, outgoing, organized, and comfortable working directly with drivers every day. Someone who does not wait for candidates to come in, but knows how to find them, build relationships, and maintain a strong recruiting pipeline.
Main Responsibilities
- Actively recruit CDL drivers through Indeed, social media, Craigslist, referrals, driver contacts, and other recruiting sources.
- Interview and qualify driver candidates and manage the hiring process from beginning to end.
- Maintain Driver Qualification Files (DQ Files) and required DOT/FMCSA documentation.
- Manage drug & alcohol program requirements, medical cards, MVRs, Clearinghouse, and driver qualification documents.
- Monitor Samsara, HOS violations, driver behavior, and required corrective training.
- Follow up with drivers regarding Safety issues, inspections, violations, and accidents.
- Monitor CSA/SMS performance and help develop Safety improvement programs.
- Maintain regular communication with drivers, understand their concerns, and help improve driver retention.
- Identify problems that could cause a good driver to leave and communicate them to Management.
- Monitor driver compliance with the Company's fuel program.
- Maintain Recruiting, Retention, Safety, and compliance performance reports.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous Safety experience working specifically for a trucking / motor carrier company is required.
- Experience working directly with CDL drivers.
- Experience recruiting and hiring CDL drivers.
- Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, HOS, DQ Files, inspections, violations, Clearinghouse, and driver compliance.
- 100% bilingual English/Spanish – spoken and written.
- Strong communication skills and comfortable talking with drivers every day.
- Proactive personality with the ability to work independently, solve problems, and bring new ideas.
- Organized, responsible, and consistent with follow-up.
- Experience with Samsara or a similar ELD system is preferred.
